My Gold Canyon Story

Simply stated … I love candles. Ever since I can remember, I love the way a candle can change your mood or bring back a memory or even just create warmth in your favorite room. So being the candle addict I am, I’ve seen just about every scented candle out there.

In August of 2006, I gave birth to a special needs child, Aiden. Aiden is just like any typical child, but he has one extra teeny tiny chromosome. Aiden has Trisomy 21, or Down syndrome and a host of other health issues that are common in children with Down syndrome.

Through Aiden I have had the opportunity to meet many new people. One such person is Connie Jenson, a Gold Canyon demonstrator. Connie approached me about a grant through the Gold Canyon Candles foundation, the Prayer Child Foundation.

At first, I was skeptical. Connie gave me the information needed to find out about Gold Canyon Candles and the Prayer Child Foundation. My husband, Chris, and I talked about it for over a month before we released any of Aiden's information. We decided that we could give it a shot. Like any fundraisers and getting donations, the worse they could say is no.

A month after submitting Aiden's information to the Prayer Child Foundation, I received a box in the mail. Inside the box was a letter from Connie, a letter from the Prayer Child Foundation, a check from the grant, and a Cinn-a-Raisin Toast candle - part of the line of Candles for Kids.

Chris and I were impressed with Gold Canyon, the Pray Child Foundation and the Candles for Kids line. We discussed the possibility of me going into business for myself.

After thinking about it, I decided to go for it and have been having a blast ever since. I love introducing new people to Gold Canyon candles and reaching levels of success that I never before thought possible. With such a high quality product, it’s so easy to do!
